TL;DRMoEngage buys Aampe in an all-cash deal described as tens of millions of dollars, aiming to deploy per-customer AI agents that autonomously decide messaging, targeting, and timing, signaling a shift toward 1:1 agentic decisioning in enterprise marketing.
MoEngage, an India-based customer engagement platform, has acquired San Francisco startup Aampe in an all-cash deal described by sources familiar with the matter as worth tens of millions of dollars. Aampe builds software that assigns a dedicated AI agent to each customer, enabling brands to personalize messaging based on individual behavior rather than conventional audience segments and campaign rules. The deal is expected to help MoEngage win enterprise customers migrating from legacy stacks such as Salesforce Marketing Cloud and Adobe Experience Cloud, with MoEngage noting three to four multimillion-dollar annual contract value deals in the quarter. About 20 Aampe employees will join MoEngage, increasing the combined headcount to roughly 820. Aampe counts Swiggy, Grab, and Taxfix among its clients, and MoEngage has recently raised substantial funding to fuel growth. The integration underscores a broader industry move toward embedding autonomous decisioning within marketing platforms, advancing from content creation tools to agents that decide who to target, what messages to send, and when to send them. The collaboration with Aampe is positioned to extend MoEngage’s Merlin AI agents, potentially enabling per-customer decisioning at scale.
