Gemini Notebook expands Google's AI research workflow with code execution and ecosystem integration

Google has rebranded NotebookLM to Gemini Notebook, expanding its research tool with native code execution, secure cloud compute, and deeper integration across the Gemini ecosystem. For AI builders, this means a more capable, source-grounded analysis environment that now syncs across the Gemini app and Google Search.

What happened

Google renamed NotebookLM to Gemini Notebook as part of a broader push to align its AI products under the Gemini brand. The tool remains a standalone product focused on research but now includes a secure cloud computer that can write and run code natively against user-uploaded sources. This upgrade is available today for Google AI Ultra users and Workspace customers with AI Ultra Access or AI Expanded Access, with a rollout to AI Pro users on the web planned in the coming weeks.

Notebooks now sync across the Gemini app and the standalone Gemini Notebook experience.
