Claude voice mode expands to Opus and Sonnet models with app integrations

Anthropic has upgraded Claude voice mode to support its Opus and Sonnet models for the first time, bringing deeper reasoning and app integrations to hands-free workflows. The update also adds connectors to Gmail, Google Calendar, Slack, Canva, and Notion, and supports 11 languages with mid-session switching.

Previously, Claude voice mode only ran on the Haiku model, which prioritizes speed over depth. Now users can choose between Opus, Sonnet, and Haiku models during voice interactions. The system automatically selects the last model used in text chat and uses its fastest version by default.

Voice mode now works with connectors that bridge Claude chat with external tools. Supported integrations include Gmail, Google Calendar, Slack, Canva, and Notion, enabling tasks like updating meeting slots, drafting emails, or creating Notion documents via voice commands.

Multilingual support covers 11 languages: English, French, German, Hindi, Indonesian, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese (Brazilian), and Spanish (Latin America/Spain). Users can switch languages mid-session, though language choice must be specified manually.
