Crash Course: Containerization in Practice

This intensive course introduces containerization concepts in a practical, hands-on format. Built around the core principles of Linux container technology and the Open Container Initiative standards, the program guides participants from a system level understanding to real world container deployments. The course emphasizes practical skills for working with Docker, building and optimizing container images, and orchestrating multi-container environments. Delivered online via Zoom, it is designed for a broad audience, including DevOps professionals, developers, QA, data engineers, and data scientists who want to gain a solid, working knowledge of container technology and its application in modern workflows.

Agenda / Format

The course comprises three online sessions, each approximately three hours long, spread across June 2, 4 and 6. Sessions are a mix of theory and practice, with live demonstrations, exercises, and concrete tasks to consolidate learning. The format combines lectures with hands-on labs, including isolation techniques and containerized app demonstrations, ending with a practical project that participants must implement and submit for a certificate.

Speakers / Mentors

Mentor: Denis Verveiko, Team Lead SRE MLOps, Temabit Fozzy Group. Denis brings 20+ years in IT with extensive DevOps and SRE experience, including leadership on large-scale platforms and cloud-native initiatives. His background includes deploying ML platforms on EKS and contributing to containerization strategies across teams.
