With Large 4 weights out, Mistral bets on control over raw scores

Anyone can now download and run Mistral Large 4, a 1 trillion-parameter model that Mistral says leads open models in agentic coding and cyber defense. The release comes as Artificial Analysis's new v5 index widens the measured gap between the best closed and open models to 12 points, so for now self-hosting buys control more than top scores.
