Overview
The Agentic Dollars on Bitcoin Hackathon is a two day in person event hosted in Turin, Italy. The hackathon is free to attend and focuses on building self custodial dollar apps powered by local AI on RGB Protocol. The venue is BLOX in central Turin, with a motivated pool of builders from AI, crypto, web3 and fintech backgrounds invited to participate. The event runs over a weekend with teams forming to work on projects that leverage RGB Protocol on Bitcoin, QVAC and optionally WDK for self custodial wallets. The goal is to deliver end to end demos that demonstrate practical uses of digital dollars, private budgeting and on device AI. The event is organized by the RGB Protocol Association with support from major partners and sponsors.
Agenda
The schedule centers on a Saturday start with kickoff, team formation and project building, followed by a Sunday finish with project demos and an awards ceremony. The days include live mentorship, on-site Q and A with mentors, and meals provided for participants. A detailed run of show is provided to confirmed participants before the weekend. The agenda also notes the application deadline and selection process, with up to about 70 participants chosen. The weekend culminates in demonstrations of working prototypes and prizes awarded to top projects.
Tracks and focus areas
Participants can explore four tracks that emphasize different aspects of local AI powered digital dollars:
- Payments and checkout: invoicing, payroll, cross-border flows
- Self custodial digital dollar apps: wallets, savings, shared accounts
- Private financial intelligence: on-device budgeting and fraud alerts
- Autonomous economic agents: local AI that can propose actions for user approval Tracks emphasize end-to-end functionality, privacy, and real world usability. Additional emphasis is placed on UX and the ability to ship a usable product within the hackathon window.
What to expect
Attendees will build applications that run locally on device with no cloud dependencies, showcasing private by default, offline capable reasoning. RGB usage is required for all projects, with QVAC and WDK providing optional but encouraged capabilities for on-device AI and self custodial wallets. Tutorials and documentation are published ahead of the event to help applicants prepare, and mentors will be on site to accelerate progress. The event also highlights potential prizes, including a top prize and inclusion in CypherTank semifinals, with prize distribution across multiple awards.
Who should attend
This weekend is designed for AI tinkers, crypto and web3 builders, mobile and full-stack engineers, fintech and payments specialists, designers and founders, and students interested in building practical, private, and self-sovereign digital dollar solutions. No prior Bitcoin or RGB experience is required, and teams can be formed on site if attendees arrive solo.
