Overview
The Modul SWARC4AI is an iSAQB advanced level training focused on software architecture for AI systems. The course teaches how to design modern software architectures that integrate machine learning, data governance, and generative AI. Participants learn to create scalable, secure, and explainable AI-enabled architectures and to manage the lifecycle of AI components within larger IT landscapes. The program blends theoretical concepts with practical exercises to help attendees apply methods directly to their projects.
Target audience and prerequisites
The module is intended for software architects, lead developers, and engineers who want to deepen their expertise in AI driven architectures. A background in software architecture, data processing, and basic machine learning is recommended to maximize benefit. Some sessions emphasize alignment with regulatory and security requirements as well as governance practices.
Dates and location
This Modul SWARC4AI runs from 16 to 18 November 2026. The event is listed with a Berlin schedule, and the content indicates an online delivery format in addition to on-site elements. The page notes that the event occurs in the German time zone (Europe/Berlin).
Format and agenda
The module combines instructional sessions, hands-on workshops, and case studies. Key topics include:
- Foundations of AI relevant to software architecture, including machine learning basics, generative AI, and large language models (LLMs).
- Differences between AI systems and traditional software, design patterns for AI systems, and how to integrate ML into existing architectures.
- Compliance and security, including EU AI Act considerations, privacy, and threat mitigation for AI components.
- Data management and processing, with emphasis on data pipelines, data engineering practices, and governance.
- System architectures for generative AI, including tools, patterns, and retrieval augmented generation (RAG).
- Case studies and practical projects that connect concepts to real-world scenarios.
- Domain and hands-on exercises around data pipelines, monitoring, and MLOps for operational AI systems.
Speakers and trainers
The program features experienced practitioners, including an instructor listed as Alessandro Buttignon, who brings data science expertise and industry experience in CRISP-DM driven projects, data engineering, and ML lifecycle management.
Who should attend
