Overview
LearnKube Day is a free, in-person Kubernetes community event combining practical learning, technical talks, audience participation, and time to connect with other practitioners. It takes place on Monday, November 9, 2026, from 10:00 to 19:00 at the Granite Conference Center in the Hilton Salt Lake City Center, 255 South West Temple, Salt Lake City, Utah 84101, USA. Registration is required, and capacity is limited. Attendees may join the morning workshop, the afternoon program and reception, or the full day.
The program is aimed at people interested in Kubernetes and its practical use in production. It includes hands-on work, technical sessions with audience Q&A, ten short lightning talks, a live quiz, lunch and refreshments, and an evening reception. The afternoon talks run in one continuous track, so attendees do not have to choose between parallel sessions.
Agenda
10:00–12:00 | Hands-on workshop: “Break It, Watch It, Fix It (with a little AI help)” explores Kubernetes observability and AI SRE agents. Participants deploy a deliberately faulty microservices application, add metrics, dashboards, and traces, and use telemetry to investigate failures. They also test an in-cluster AI SRE agent, consider where agents may fail, and discuss safe permissions, guardrails, and governance. Participants should bring a laptop and an AI subscription. A local Kubernetes cluster or a provided environment can be used, and YAML is supplied for the exercises.
12:00–13:00 | Lunch and refreshments.
13:00–15:15 | Technical program: Talks and walkthroughs cover cost optimization, maintaining auditability and resilience while increasing developer velocity in “Bank Grade Kubernetes,” and AI operations, including moving from noisy signals to safe action. Each session is followed by audience Q&A.
15:15–15:30 | Break.
15:30–16:30 | Lightning talks: Ten speakers each give a five-minute talk. Featured speakers include Artem Lajko, Diana Todea, Viktor Farcic, Graziano Casto, and Brandt Keller.
16:30–19:00 | YAML Games and reception: The live quiz features Kubernetes questions, broken manifests, memes, audience teams, and deliberately silly prizes. From 17:00 to 19:00, attendees can continue conversations over drinks and canapes.
Hosts and community
Hosts include Salman Iqbal, Kubernetes instructor and technical host; Amin Astaneh, Kubernetes instructor; and Bart Farrell, KubeFM host, panel moderator, and YAML Games quizmaster. The event is supported by CloudBolt, with the Utah Kubernetes Meetup as community sponsor. People interested in sharing practical Kubernetes experience through a lightning talk, contributing to the program, or supporting the event can contact LearnKube.
FAQ
Attendance is free, but registration is required. One registration covers the workshop, technical program, lightning talks, YAML Games, and reception. The technical sessions are presented in a single track. Registration requires an email address; the page says registrants will receive a confirmation link and attendee guide. It also notes that registration email addresses are shared with event sponsor CloudBolt, which may contact registrants about its products and services.
