Overview
Craft Conference is an international software engineering conference focused on the practical craft of building great software. Its 2027 theme is “From promises to value,” with a focus on turning good ideas into useful engineering practices and products. The conference is designed for senior engineers and technology leaders navigating software development in the age of AI. It brings practitioners together to share production experience, technical knowledge, and lessons from building complex systems.
The event expects more than 2,000 attendees and features over 80 international speakers. Its approach combines technical depth with an informal atmosphere, aiming to give participants practical ideas they can put to work in their teams and technology stacks.
Dates and venue
Craft Conference takes place June 3–4, 2027, at the Hungarian Railway Museum, also known as the Hungarian Railway History Park, in Budapest, Hungary. The venue address is Budapest, Tatai u. 95, 1142. The conference is hybrid: attendees can participate in person or online through a virtual event platform.
Program and format
The conference includes multiple tracks, expert talks, panel discussions, networking, and five masterclasses. Masterclasses are offered before the conference and on site, with deep dives led by technology partners and a stated focus on core technical mechanics rather than vendor pitches. The page does not provide a detailed day-by-day agenda or session times.
The program emphasizes hands-on, real-world engineering perspectives, including software architecture, development practices, AI-assisted engineering, product development, and engineering leadership. The organizers encourage conversation as well as learning: speakers are presented as approachable practitioners open to unscripted discussions and audience questions. A product expo gives sponsors an opportunity to present products to attendees and receive feedback. A networking party is planned for the first evening.
