Overview
Agentics Day: MCP + Agents is a community-driven event focused on advancing the Model Context Protocol (MCP), an emerging standard for connecting AI models with external tools, data, and workflows. The event gathers developers, contributors, and practitioners to explore practical MCP implementations, design patterns, and best practices for building richer, safer, and more capable AI systems. The session content centers on MCP fundamentals, server and client architecture, security and trust, integration approaches, and real-world case studies. Attendees can expect discussions on deployment considerations, developer tooling, governance, and the roadmap for MCP community evolution.
Details
The event is scheduled for November 9, 2026 in Salt Lake City, Utah. It is part of CNCF hosted co-located events and is designed for engineers, researchers, product managers, and technical decision makers who are exploring or implementing MCP in their AI workflows. The program is presented in a collaborative format that invites questions, discussion, and knowledge sharing among participants. Registration information indicates an All-Access in-person pass may grant access to all CNCF-hosted co-located events in addition to Agentics Day.
Agenda and Tracks
The page outlines a focused agenda around MCP fundamentals and architecture, building MCP servers and clients, security and reliability, and extending AI systems with MCP. It also highlights topics on developer tooling and debugging, production case studies, enterprise integration, performance, scaling, and community evolution. A dedicated Call For Proposals (CFP) section invites speakers to submit sessions, with suggested formats including presentations, panels, and lightning talks. Submissions are encouraged for talks that cover MCP concepts, real-world deployments, and governance considerations.
Sessions and Topics
Proposed session topics include MCP fundamentals and architecture, building MCP servers and clients, security, trust, and reliability, extending AI systems with MCP, developer tooling and debugging, MCP in production with case studies, enterprise integration and governance, performance and scaling, and future roadmap and community evolution. Submission types listed are 25 minute presentations, 35 minute panels with 3 to 5 speakers from multiple organizations, and 10 minute lightning talks. The content suggests a practical, hands-on approach with examples and potential demonstrations to illustrate MCP capabilities.
